The first half of 2023 has been big for Stamford Hill’s latest prospect, Kirky. Coming to us from the same neck of the woods as Clavish, the North-East Londoner has been plugging away at music for a few years now, tweaking the melody-to-barring combination and growing a solid fanbase in the process.
Kirky’s latest is “Hypnotized”, one of his more melodic cuts, but without a single punch pulled. Production comes from Azura with Exuising and Kutoff, and together they’ve crafted a piano-driven instrumental that mirrors Kirky’s balance of street talk, girl talk and the ever-present threat of tragedy. The video, meanwhile, focuses on the positives, piecing together diary-like shots of Kirky on his way through the streets in expensive cars, to packed-out venues and high-end jewellers.
The new single lands not long after the If Only You Knew EP—a landmark four-tracker with some heavyweight features including Abra Cadabra, Clavish, Tymepce, VVS Melo, and Rizzo—as well as wrapping up the RGA tour with Clavish.
While we wait to see what’s next, hit play on the video above and be sure to add “Hypnotised” when it hits DSPs later this week.
