Having struck gold on Manga Saint Hilare and MoreNight’s recent album Everything Is Under Control with “Exercise”, Manga and Kamakaze have reunited on a new joint, “Come This Far”.
Both outsiders in their respective lanes—Kamakaze cutting a commanding presence in the East Midlands and Manga as a grime MC consistently pushing himself and the sound into new and unexpected places from the get-go—they make for a fresh and energising partnership.
It’s a very different vibe from “Exercise”; the squelchy, sci-fi grime has been swapped for a choppy, soul-sampling groover from producer Jack Dean. Armed with that, Kam and Manga go back to back with motivational stories of their wins, their losses and how they keep their eyes on the prize.
