K Trap 'The Last Whip II'

K-Trap fans are in a golden age right now.

It was only six months ago that we got the South London rapper’s blockbuster Joints project with Blade Brown, and a year before that, he dropped off his last solo venture, Trapo. But now he’s back with another full-length in The Last Whip II, which is the follow-up to 2017’s The Last Whip.

It’s an unparalleled level of productivity and so far the quality is still at its highest levels. He first started down the road to this new project when he dropped the fittingly-named “Busy” in July, before officially announcing the tape’s arrival a month later with “Spoilt”. The third single, “Extra Sleeve” with Headie One, landed late last night with some crisp, all-black visuals from Don Prod.

Features-wise, Trapo’s kept it strictly A-list. Besides the Headie One feature, there are guest spots from LD, Krept & Konan, M Huncho, Youngs Teflon, S Loud, Odeal and Reekz MB.

As for production, he’s called on a slightly larger team to help him bridge the gap between the drill foundations and the broader rap sounds he’s been exploring lately. M1OnTheBeat and Nathaniel London—frequent K-Trap collaborators—handle a significant chunk of the beats, with the rest coming courtesy of Remedee, Hillz, Emm Beats, Quincy, Prince, Sound Boi, Handz Beatz, Chris Rich and Jukky.
