Summer’s upon us, we’re deep in festival territory, and Carnival is just around the corner.
With all that in mind, Idris Elba, General Levy, Toddla T and new-gen Jamaican artist Naomi Cowan arrive with their impeccably timed team-up single, “We Run The Area”. A big and bassy hybrid of garage and dancehall, it’s heaven-sent for big speakers and blistering sunshine. Teezy, of course, is on the buttons while Idris and The General swap patois and cockney-laden bars, but it’s Cowan who steals the show with a burst of scattergun ragga at the midway point.
“This is the posse cut I never knew I needed,” said Toddla T of the track, whilst Idris Elba wants to “big up all junglist massive! Literally.”
