Offering an antidote to the January blues and general existential dread that’s all too easy to fall prey to, UK soul singer Debbie returns with “Rain”.

Somewhere between affirmation and battlecry, the South London talent offers encouragement and reassurance with lines like, “Let it roll down your face, nothing but a bit of rain…” But with Max Wolgang and Moxro’s driving, piano-led beat behind her, it becomes more defiant.

Adding some more context, Debbie shares: “I needed a song that made me feel light. Everything around me has been heavy recently; the music is a reminder that—just like rain—it will all pass.”

Having wrapped up 2023 with features for Stormzy and Nines, plus her first MOBO nomination for Best Newcomer, Debbie’s attacking the new year with some fire in her belly. If she was in need of an elixir, it sounds like it’s done the trick.
