A year and a bit of lockdown has been rough on all of us, but thanks to people like Continental GT there have at least been brief moments of respite. A year ago to the day, the Birmingham selector took to Instagram to keep us sane with what would become a regular series of livestreamed mixes, a decision that has brought him a huge swathe of new fans.
Not long after his first broadcast, we hit GT up for a Complex Sessions mix and now he’s back with a special visual set for us as a special treat for everyone that’s tuned in during lockdown (despite the fact it’s us who owe him a debt of gratitude).
Speaking with Complex via email, the DJ star said: “Over the lockdown, I’ve been keeping active and busy by putting on big IG live shows, which have also featured DJ Pioneer, Supa D, HITTY, Ms Dynamite and Heartless Crew, which was a monster of a show—we had over 3,000 people in there watching! I’ve also sold-out five Steppers events in Manchester and London, and we’re planning eventS in Leeds, Liverpool, and my hometown of Birmingham soon. This mix is a lockdown live anniversary special to say ‘thank you’ for all the support everyone’s given me. It features tracks that were heavily played on the lives throughout the lockdown, and I hope everyone enjoys it.”
