Following his “I Will” single in February, Central Cee is back with a new drop and he’s opted for something a little different this time.

Taking a break from his usual bouncy rap sound, “CC Freestyle” sees him head down a grimey path thanks to production from legendary grime (and UK funky, via Crazy Cousinz) producer Flukes. On this new freestyle, Cench takes on Flukes’ 2007-released riddim, “I Have Nothing”, with ease; the beat also features a very similar sped-up sample of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” that’s used on Travis Scott’s 2016 offering, “Guidance”.

Cench first teased the freestyle yesterday when he took to Instagram to post a clip of it. His love for grime is also nothing new. Speaking with XXL last year, the West London rapper said: “People who influenced me 10, 12 years ago when I first started recording music… Skepta, I’ll always pay a big thing to, Jme, the whole grime scene—which is no longer really like a thing anymore, but that was what made me wanna rap.”

Hit play on the video at the top and be sure to add “CC Freestyle” to your playlists when it hits DSPs tomorrow (May 10).
