Remixes of the UK indie band Foals have been previously featured on DAD, and now they're back for a second time. OWSLA-endorsed Alex Metric has taken their track "Bad Habit" and put his own spin to it. The result is a coalescence of deep house and traditional progressive house as Metric turns away from his special brand of funky, bass-driven electro. It's an interesting development for a producer like Metric to make a pretty drastic change in style, but perhaps it was part of landing a big remix like this. No release date is imminent but you can preview below!
UPDATE Alex Metric has some things to say regarding this post that we wanted to share:
@DoAndroidsDance I would never change my style to 'land' a remix, I did what I thought suited the track and vocal. It felt right.

@DoAndroidsDance people ask me to remix because I treat originals with respect & don't try and shoehorn them into something that doesn't fit

@DoAndroidsDance most of my remixes are very different from eachother. This is no change in direction, merely the right vibe for the song.

@DoAndroidsDance a vocal like that does not lend itself to "funky", it's an emotional, dark song and the music needs to reflect that.

@DoAndroidsDance this approach to remixing i believe is why I get to work with so many great artists. Either way I am glad you like it.

@DoAndroidsDance if you go back 5 years some of my first tunes were more like this my song "Holding" and my Merz remix for example.

@DoAndroidsDance mixing up styles and genres is what I have always done and will always do.
