Harper is about to blow up. Following last month's sultry single, "Skin", the Bristol-born artist continues her ascendency with "Back Fire"—an emotive ballad that sounds like a combination of Rihanna's honest lyricism on "Kiss It Better" and BANKS' brooding Night Slugs-esque soundscape. Priding herself on having an unconditional love for music, the passion for her craft oozes out through slickly produced, evocative pop. Harper told Complex over email: "'Back Fire' is an honest ode to a person I once had a brief and tragic encounter with. I treated them like they were disposable; even though they gave me everything I needed, I was still wanting. So this is me, confessing-ly selfish, telling that person to take their love back because I don't deserve it."
