It’s another strong week in music releases. Gunna finally dropped his collaboration with Drake, “P Power,” which was previously delayed. Earl Sweatshirt dropped his new project, SICK!, featuring the standout track “Fire in the Hole.” Cordae recruited Freddie Gibbs and Stevie Wonder for “Champagne Glasses” off his sophomore album From a Bird’s Eye View. This week’s list also includes new music from JID, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Saba and more.

Gunna f/ Drake, “P Power”

Originally previewed last year, Gunna finally dropped his new collaboration with Drake. “P Power” is a smooth track that finds the duo detailing erotic and drug-fueled nights. Over a sample of Donna Summer’s 1976 single “Could It Be Magic,” Gunna kicks things off, rapping, “Power that P, got you poppin’ in places/ I’m giving her the D, I’m the D-boy, baby.” Drake steps in on the second verse as he raps about Percs and women. ​​”You seein’ 3D off a Perky, my baby/ Seein’ HD off the 2C, my baby/ Heard he want gang, it get spooky, my baby,” he spits. “P Power” was released on the deluxe version of Gunna’s DS4EVER. Earl Sweatshirt, “Fire in the Hole”

“Fire in the Hole” is a syrupy record, rich in jazzy production, that finds Earl Sweatshirt delivering a single, sharp verse. “It’s been a minute since I blew up your line/ I leave town fast/ Out the dungeon like Outkast/ Funnels with the loud pack/ Hunter’s boots crunchin’ through the brown grass,” he spits. “Fire in the Hole” is a standout from Earl Sweatshirt’s latest project, SICK!

Cordae f/ Freddie Gibbs & Stevie Wonder, “Champagne Glasses”

Cordae is back, and he’s amongst legendary company once again. “Champagne Glasses” is a dreamy song that unites the Maryland rookie with Freddie Gibbs and Stevie Wonder. On the track, Cordae reflects on growing up and dreaming of fame. “I got my head up in the clouds livin’ off daydreamin’/ Still high up off of life, I know my light ray beamin’/ Got up out river, nigga, now I’m straight mainstreamin’,” he spits. Freddie Gibbs also delivers a memorable verse, rapping, “I just sit back and get high and I just think/ ‘bout how long this rap shit gon’ last us.” Stevie Wonder closes out the track, which appears on Cordae’s new album From a Bird’s Eye View, with a soothing harmonica solo.

JID f/ 21 Savage & Baby Tate, “Surround Sound”

“Surround Sound” was first teased in April 2020, but finally officially dropped this year. The single is a collaboration between Atlanta artists JID, 21 Savage, and Baby Tate. A soulful sample of Aretha Franklin leads the track into a bouncy beat, where JID delivers an intoxicating chorus and first verse. In his signature tone, 21 Savage lays down a dizzying verse, spitting, “Back in the day, I invest in the block/ Fast forward, now I’m investing in stocks/ I put a drum on the Heckler and Koch/ Don’t play ‘cause I’m very invested in shots.” And Baby Tate offers a sultry break before JID switches up the beat. 

Joey Badass, “The Rev3nge”

“The Rev3nge” is a villainous track from Joey Badass, celebrating his comeback. On the vengeful record, the New York artist is out for blood as he comes back to take his place in the game. “Back with a classic, I know it’s been long/ Heard they was missing me while I was gone/ I smell a victory, back up on top and it’s where I belong,” he spits. The fiery new single continues the rollout for Joey’s third studio album, which the rapper has been teasing since 2020. 

Murda Beatz f/ Wale & Blxst, “One Shot”

“One Shot” is a smooth and expressive track, courtesy of Murda Beatz. The single features Blxst, who delivers a catchy chorus and verse, as he gives women one shot to win him over. “Cause I’m giving you one shot only/ If you place any bets, it’s on me,” he sings on the chorus. Wale drops a romantic verse as he details what he wants in a woman. “Let’s say we lovers and we friends, you got me droppin’ Ushers/ Just know I’m very much aware that love can be a hustle,” he spits.

Chris Brown, “Iffy”

“Iffy” is a dizzying dance track from Chris Brown that finds the R&B crooner singing about parties . The track could be the next birthday anthem, as Brown chants on the track, “It’s your birthday, put your hands in the air if it’s your birthday/ And you know we don’t give a fuck ‘cause that’s your birthday.” “Iffy” is the lead single from Chris Brown’s upcoming tenth studio album.

Saba f/ Krayzie Bone, “Come My Way”

“Come My Way” is a velvety collaboration between Saba and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony member Krayzie Bone. On the track, Saba delivers an effortless verse, weaving in out of sharp raps and soft singing. Krayzie Bone also delivers hazy bars, rapping, “Shinin’, ballin’ ‘til the end of my time/ Stuck in my prime, I’m always at my best/ Sick in the mind, go all day ,never rest.” “Come My Way” will appear on Saba’s project, Few Good Things, which is slated to drop February 4. 

EarthGang, “All Eyes On Me”

EarthGang is back with “All Eyes on Me,” a punchy track that finds the rap duo getting political as they discuss racism, the pandemic, and more. “Black lives matter, yeah, I said that, ho/ Trap lives matter, gotta let them know,” Johnny Venus declares. Elsewhere on the track, Doctur Dot gets vulnerable as he opens up about his family and fame. “Mama I ain’t made it ‘til you quit your nine-to-five/ I was on the road when I found out my uncle died,” he raps. “All Eyes on Me” will be on EarthGang’s Ghetto Gods, dropping Jan. 28.
