Just months after telling fans that there would not be another Lupe Fiasco album in 2017, the Chicago rapper released two short tracks on Twitter. Lupe premiered "Black Power L Word," a concerto beat filled with intricate rhymes that showcases his literary tactics. He then posted "KJazz" just hours later, which premieres at just under two minutes and flows a simple jazz beat while the rapper pays homage to Los Angeles. Both songs speak to Lupe's lyrical genius, and complicate the question fans are asking regarding Lupe's artistic future.

It isn't yet clear if Lupe will be releasing these tracks as a part of an upcoming album, since he shared on social media that fans shouldn't expect another Lupe project for the remainder of the year. This came after early retirement rumors began circling since the artist announced his intentions to stop creating albums, in addition to his ongoing struggle with his previous label Atlantic Records.

After premiering his sixth studio album Drogas Light in February, it's clear that Lupe's still perhaps the greatest rap lyricist of all time. You can listen to his new tracks "KJazz" and "Black Power L Word" above.
