He was pretty chill about it.

While on The Ellen Show in an exclusive clip made available on YouTubeEd Sheeran chatted about the recent unveiling of nominees for next year's Grammy Awards. Ellen DeGeneres gave Ed credit for the pair of nominations that he did get(which were best pop solo performance and best pop vocal album for Divide) and then mentioned that he wasn't nominated in the album of the year or song of the year categories.

Sheeran (like you, I'm guessing) seemed pretty laid back about the whole thing, and responded to her statement of being "outraged" about it, by saying "My outlook on it is some years you have your year and some years you don't have your year. Maybe this year isn't my year."

Following that pretty relaxed reply, DeGeneres said she couldn't get his 2017 hit "Shape of You" out of her head for quite some time. Sheeran responded by implying that the song getting trapped in people's brains was the real positive.

"But that's the point," he said. "That's where you win. That's where the validation comes from. You actually see people enjoying the songs. I'd rather have a lifetime of people coming up to me and saying... 'This song is my wedding song,' or 'this song was my first kiss.'"

They also talked about his recent remix duet with Beyonce, and also how he broke his arm. Oh, he also talked about his cats, but that's probably less likely to make you want to watch. So just forget that part and click play above.
