Taylor Swift and Netflix released the trailer for the singer's upcoming documentary, Miss Americana.

The documentary which Netflix describes as a "raw and emotionally revealing look at one of the most iconic artists of our time" will give fans a rare glimpse into Swift's personal life. Through behind-the-scenes footage and artist interviews, viewers will see how she learned how to balance being a pop superstar and someone fighting to find her own voice.

Emmy Award winner Lana Wilson (After Tiller, The Departure) directed the film while Academy Award winners Morgan Neville and Caitrin Rogers along with Christine O’Malley produced Miss Americana. The documentary is set to make its world premiere on Jan. 23 at the Sundance Film Festival. After Sundance, Miss Americana will be available in select theaters and for stream on Netflix on Jan. 31.

In Miss Americana, fans will see how Swift's journey to becoming more vocal has impacted the way she interacts with the media. Instead of giving the best and most pleasing answer, the singer is allowing herself to be unapologetically honest with the public. This was on display during a cover story Variety in which she admits to the publication that Cats was a "weird-ass movie."

"I had a really great time working on that weird-ass movie," she said. "I’m not gonna retroactively decide that it wasn’t the best experience. I never would have met Andrew Lloyd Webber or gotten to see how he works, and now he’s my buddy. I got to work with the sickest dancers and performers. No complaints."

She was also able to talk candidly about her mother's battle with cancer. Swift told Variety that doctors discovered a brain tumor during her mother's course of treatment and it is taking a toll on her family.

"The symptoms of what a person goes through when they have a brain tumor is nothing like what we've ever been through with her cancer before," she said. "So it's just been a really hard time for us as a family."
