Those in search of a new artist with an old soul, look no further than Andra Day. The Warner Bros. signee has a powerful voice that will stop you in your tracks, as evidenced by her new single, "Forever Mine."

Today, Complex premieres the accompanying visuals, which takes place at the Standard Hotel in West Hollywood. There, Andra starts her shift as "da box girl," praying, reading, and writing, all the while sharing her beautiful vocals to a crowd of people relaxing in a dimly lit lounge. One man even attempts to flirt with her from beyond the glass, but has no luck. It's an interesting concept that takes on its own narrative outside of the music.

Andra Day's video for "Forever Mine" is directed by Spike Lee, who connected with Day after seeing her perform a Nina Simone tribute at Sundance. "I really just had this incredible sense of peace while we we're working," Andra told Complex of her experience with the famed filmmaker.

According to Andra, Spike introduced the idea of the young singer climbing into the box art installation at the Standard. From there, Andra created her own sanctuary, so to speak. "It's the irony of being trapped in the box, but that actually being my most free place," she explained. "All of my peace comes in that place, so the box represents that."

Check out the video for "Forever Mine" above. Andra Day's debut album, Cheers to the Fall, will be released Aug. 28 and is available now for pre-order on iTunes. Those who grab the project early will receive four instant grat tracks: "Forever Mine," "Gold," "Rearview," and "Only Love."
