Hair metal legends Mötley Crüe have been on the road the past two years for what they've billed as their final tour together as a band. The extended affair finally came to a close on New Year's Eve with one last blowout gig at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, the show had to be put on hold midway through when drummer Tommy Lee was left hanging upside down from the roof of the Lakers and Clippers home arena trapped in a non-responsive roller coaster.
Dubbed "the Crüecifly," the floor-to-ceiling coaster was the big set-piece for the Crüe's tour and until the final performance had seemingly worked without any major issues. "It looks like the roller coaster is broken," Lee announced shortly after the chrome covered percussion kit came to a grinding halt high above the crowd. "I can't believe this is happening on the last night. I knew something wasn't right when I took off."
A few of the band's crew quickly jumped into action, scaled the tall scaffolding and managed to get it unstuck in a pretty short period, and the Crüe's final curtain call was once again allowed to resume. Watch the incident go down in the video above.
