“They had about 15 bottles of liquor and champagne, which is extremely excessive especially for a charity event,” the club promoter said.

Timbaland refused to perform at a recent charity benefit to raise funds for the residents of Flint, Michigan currently in the midst of a major water crisis. According to the promoter who booked Timbo for the gig Mitchell Jaworski, the mega-producer's decision to not perform stemmed from a dispute over champagne.

Apparently, the club did not stock Timbaland's preferred brand of bubbly Jay-Z's Armand de Brignac, so they gave him Ace of Spades instead. When that wasn't sufficient they then uncorked some Dom Perignon. “They had about 15 bottles of liquor and champagne, which is extremely excessive especially for a charity event,” Jaworski told the Daily News. “They seemed more concerned about getting every drop of liquor.”

When it came time for the Empire producer to go up, instead of adhering to the contract stipulation of DJing for thirty minutes and then performing five to eight songs, he instead just stood at the front of the stage nodding along while another DJ spun some tracks. "His management (took) classlessness to a new level when they said Timbaland did ‘not feel like’ performing,” Jaworski said. “They then insisted that we show them the signed contract for the night and where the stipulation was for the ‘live’ performance. Finally management relented and literally had to wake Timbaland up so he could proceed to stand behind the decks and nod his head for 30 minutes.”

Even with Timbaland's non-performance, the event still raised $3,000 for those in Flint, Michigan.
