Lil Wayne made a young Texas boy’s dreams come true at this year’s Lil WeezyAna Fest.

According to TMZ, it was back in October that the New Orleans rapper hosted a Make-A-Wish recipient, Donovan Fitzpatrick, at the concert, who is a huge Weezy fan. The rapper welcomed the 10-year-old on stage during his set and performed “Go DJ.” In addition to being a Wayne fan, Fitzpatrick is also a huge Los Angeles Lakers and Kansas City Chiefs devotee. When Wayne found out, he gifted the kid a ton of sports collectibles, including baseball caps, jerseys, beanies, and more.

The outlet states Fitzpatrick has hypoplastic left heart syndrome, which affects his blood flow. Footage of the 10-year-old joining Weezy on stage was included in Nightline’s Hulu docuseries, Impact. “I’ve never been a part of a Make-A-Wish situation,” he said. “Those kids, their days are so important, so vital. So for one of you wanna spend one of your days with me? … After the show, I was able to look him in his eyes and tell him, ‘No matter how many people out in the crowd tonight, no matter how many people standing to my left or my right on stage, it was you.’”

This year’s Lil WeezyAna Fest was full of noteworthy moments, featuring performances from Takeoff and Quavo, Rick Ross, Cam’ron, and Drake, who made a surprise appearance during Weezy’s set. In addition to connecting with Fitzpatrick, Lil Wayne also returned to his former school, McMain High School, for the class of 2020’s class reunion, which never happened due to the pandemic.
