Another Sunday means another edition of Kanye West’s inspirational Sunday Service.
This week’s jam session just happened to fall on the 15th anniversary of College Dropout, so of course, the choir performed a rendition of “Jesus Walks.” Kim Kardashian shared videos of the performance on Twitter, which came in three parts, with the last video including dancing from North and a friend.
Ye’s Sunday Services kicked off in January. In the first week’s session, Yeezy led a choir through his hits from every era, sanctifying tracks from College Dropout to Ye. He even debuted a new song called “We’ll Find A Way” at the second installment, a suitable fit for the inspirational and uplifting vibe of the Yeezy Goes Gospel sessions.
Last week, it was revealed that Ye is being sued over a sample featured in his song “Ultralight Beam,” on 2016’s The Life of Pablo.
The plaintiffs are Andrew and Shirley Green, the adoptive parents of the little girl whose voice is heard in the album opener. The child, named Natalie, went viral several years ago after she was filmed reciting an impassioned prayer at 4-years-old. Ye used the audio on the track after receiving permission from Natalie's biological mom. But the Greens claim the child's birth parent was not authorized to give permission, and that Ye never sent a written license agreement and payment to the birth mom, as he allegedly promised. The plaintiffs are seeking profits from “Ultralight Beam” as well as unspecified damages.
