Doja Cat beefing with her fans has come at a price.
Data from social media analysis company Crowdtangle shows that the singer-rapper was unfollowed by 237,758 people on Instagram following her posts on Threads, per Billboard.
On Monday she put her fans on blast, refusing to tell them she loves them, saying she didn’t want them to go by the nickname Kittenz, and calling out another fan account for using her government name, Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, as its handle.
"My life, my rules, my style, my attitude,” Doja wrote on Threads.
"My fans don't name themselves shit," she continued in a since-deleted message on the new platform. "If you call yourself a 'kitten' or fucking 'kittenz' that means you need to get off your phone and get a job and help your parents with the house."
Her outburst saw a number of Doja Cat fan accounts become inactive on Twitter. Over the last 30 days, she’s lost almost 300,000 followers. She still has 25.7 million followers on IG at the time of this writing.
Fellow hitmaker Charli XCX took to Twitter to opine that “Doja Cat’s being so grumpy” on Monday. She tweeted “omg i got hacked😱” hours later, though it’s unclear if that was serious since the Doja post remains.
