Ajani Jones has debuted the video for his song “Black Power Ranger” from his debut album Dragonfly. The visual finds the Chicago rapper reminiscing about his youth for a song about “coming of age in a new, evolving world.”
“The video symbolizes time and the constant change of motion within our society, music itself, and our minds,” Jones told Complex. “The colors in the video… represent all the different creeds and styles of people we all come across and how it all comes together to be this perfect chaos to create something beautiful.”
He added, “The little boy depicted represents my younger self trying to discover the world.”
Dragonfly dropped in July via Chicago indie label Closed Sessions. Jones previously released the video for the album cut “Lucid.”
