The first album arrived in 2016, with both rappers hinting at the second chapter for years. In April 2016, 2 Chainz said that the pair have “plenty” more music, and Weezy said it was “already done.” Two years later, Tity Boi teased ColleGrove 2 online, writing, “Me and my brother gotta another 1 on the way.”
ColleGrove opened at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 in March 2016. While it was initially publicized as a joint project between the rappers, 2 Chainz ended up receiving credit as the main artist because of Weezy’s label problems.
More recently, 2 Chainz has been working closely with artists from his T.R.U. collective, releasing the group’s debut compilation No Face No Case in February. That same month, he also linked with DJ Spinz for the single “NO TV.”
For his part, Weezy recently dropped his album Funeral, which became his fifth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 and included a tribute to the late Kobe Bryant.
