T.I. wants the world to know why he continues to take aim at Kodak Black. And, no, it's not because he wants "first dibs" on Lauren London, as Kodak has claimed.
First, a bit of background information: Shortly after Nipsey Hussle was fatally shot in South Los Angeles, Kodak Black was filmed making insensitive remarks about Londonāthe late rapper's longtime girlfriend. The "Zeze" rapper said the actress was "finna be a whole widow" and that he would gladly step up to "be the best man I can be for her."
"I'll give her a whole year," he said in the footage.Ā "She might need a whole year to be crying and sh** for [Nipsey]."
T.I. immediately blasted Kodak for the comments, and issued a stern warning.
"Hey, Kodak Black: You outta pocket, n***a. Fix that shitāquickly, expeditiously," Tip said in an Instagram video. "[...] If I see you, Iāma say it to your face. You outta pocket, n***a. Get your motherf***in' self together."
Though Kodak went on to issue a half-assed apology to London, he suggested T.I.'s outrage was rooted in competition. TheĀ 21-year-old claimed T.I. was only criticizing him because he wanted to get to London first.
On Tuesday night, the ATL rapper hit up Instagram Live to explain why he's been going so hard on Kodak in wake of the controversial comments. In a nutshell, T.I. believes Nipsey would do the same for him.Ā
"I see myself in this. And I only wanna handle him the way I feel that he would handle me," T.I. said. "Thatās it ā¦ If a motherf***a were to speak out and say something out of line about my old lady after my untimely demise, I feel like he aināt just gonnaĀ speak up,Ā he gonnaĀ pull up."
He continued: "I owe [Nipsey] that same respect. I owe him that exact same respect, so I'ma go hard."
