Kodak Black sparked outrage this weekend when he announced his intentions to romantically pursue Lauren London, the girlfriend of the recently slain rapper Nipsey Hussle.
"Lauren London that's baby, though. She about to be out here single," Kodak said during an Instagram Live broadcast. "She’s finna be a whole widow out here. I’ll be the best man I can be for her. I’ll give her a whole year. She might need a whole year to be crying and shit for him."
He continued: "I ain’t trying to shoot [my shot] at her. I’m saying, listen. She can do two, three years. I’ll try to be like the friend if you need to holla or a shoulder to lean on. She can call my line."
Fans and hip-hop figures blasted Kodak for his level of disrespect. Bronx-based MC Mysonne the General criticized Kodak for taking "clout chasing" too far, while The Game demanded Kodak to keep Nipsey's name out of his mouth. And now T.I. has decided to put the South Florida rapper in check.
"Hey, Kodak Black: You outta pocket, n***a. Fix that shit—quickly, expeditiously," Tip said in an Instagram video. "[...] If I see you, I’ma say it to your face. You outta pocket, n***a. Get your motherfuckin' self together."
T.I. captioned the post: "Getcho Muuufuckin Self Together Young Nigga!!!! This ain’t no Muuufuckin GAME!!!!"
Kodak commented on T.I.'s video, simply writing: "Or what?" He also addressed the ATL rapper on Instagram Live.
"Man, listen: I said what I said. Y'all tryin' to misconstrue what I said. [...] Fuck that. I don't give a fuck what y'all talkin' about," Kodak said. "T.I., man, I don't care. I'm in Georgia right now."
Nipsey was murdered less than a week ago in the Hyde Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles. He and London had been dating since 2013, and welcomed their first child together in 2016. Shortly after Nipsey was fatally shot, London opened up about her loss via Instagram.
"I am completely lost," she wrote. "I’ve lost my best friend, my sanctuary my protector my soul ... I’m lost without you. We are lost without you babe. I have no words."
