Over the past several years, Kanye West has made only few appearances on Keeping Up With the Kardashians—a decision he made after catching heat over an old scene with his now-wife Kim Kardashian. 'Ye was filmed going through Kim's closet and tossing out clothes he thought were unacceptable, as he wanted Kim to appear on a "best-dressed list."

"That was from a place of love. It's hard when people read things in a lot of different ways," 'Ye told the New York Times in 2013. "You know, the amount of backlash I got from it is when I decided to not be on the show anymore. And it's not that I have an issue with the show; I just have an issue with the amount of backlash that I get. Because I just see like, an amazing person that I’m in love with that I want to help."

Well, it appears Kanye had a change of heart, as he will reportedly receive much more screen time in KUWTK's upcoming 16th season. Kanye's involvement was announced during a recent New York Times article that detailed the Kardashian-Jenner family's cash flow.

"The new season of KUWTK[...] will prominently feature Kanye, who will be regularly (and novelly) interviewed for into-the-camera confessionals," Times' Amy Chozick wrote, before expanding on the rapper's influence behind the scenes. "He and Kim married in 2014 and ever since he has exerted his vision on the show and the family’s related businesses. He’s not just another character coming and going like many of the other men, but a major force behind all of it."

According to the Times, Kanye was responsible for some of the show's biggest aesthetic changes. For example, he was the one who suggested KUWTK ditch its original opener—a throwback to sitcoms of yesteryear—and instead go with something much more contemporary.

"He's a real creative force, clearly, and had thoughts on marketing, thoughts on presentation of the show, on the opening title sequence," said Adam Stotsky, the president of E!, told the Times

The article also addresses some of the family's biggest controversies over the years, their social media influence, as well as Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson's cheating scandal that took place last month. The NBA star had reportedly cheated on Khloé with Jordyn Woods, who was known as Kylie Jenner's ride-or-die at the time.

Following the reports, some fans noticed that the Woods-branded makeup products at Kylie Cosmetics were significantly discounted. Many believed Kylie was sending a clear message to her former bestie; however, Kylie insists that wasn't the case, as the items were put on sale because of packaging changes.

"That is just not my character. I would never do something like that and when I saw it, I was like, thrown back," Kylie said. "Jordyn knows I didn’t actually put it on sale."

Season 16 of KUWTK premieres on E! Sunday, March 31.
