J Balvin has returned with the official video for "Gris," a standout out track from his newly released studio album Colores.

The visual, directed by Colin Tilley, shows the Colombian artist inside a surreal, gray world that represents romantic heartache. Balvin reflects on feeling judged and unappreciated by the woman in his life, as he faces a scorpion infestation, a burning house, a flood, and the proverbial elephant in the room.

"The lyrics are about when you try to be the best for your partner, yet they don’t see any value in it," Balvin explained in the Apple Music notes. "They don’t stop judging you for the mistakes you made in the past."

You can check out the "Gris" video above.

The visual arrives just days before Balvin's appearance at One World: Together at Home, a live special that will benefit the people and organizations that are committed to fighting the coronavirus pandemic. The event will air at 8 p.m. ET this Saturday on ABC, NBC, ViacomCBS Networks, iHeart Media, and Bell Media networks. Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and Stephen Colbert will host the special, which will include appearances by Billie Eilish, Lizzo, John Legend, Elton John, Kacey Musgraves, and Stevie Wonder.

Balvin caught up with Complex last month while he was hunkered down in his home country of Colombia. He spoke about the precautions he was taking amid the health crisis, as well as the ways he's passing the time during self-isolation.
