The Wopsters are expanding their empire into reality TV.
This week, Gucci Mane and his fiancé Keyshia Ka'oir announced they had landed a BET series that will document the day leading up to their Oct. 17 wedding. The news arrived more than six months after Gucci proposed to his longtime girlfriend during a Hawks-Pelicans game.
“Hey guys, I want to officially share with you that Gucci and I are a part of BET,” Keyshia said in an Instagram video. “Yes, the Wopsters are coming to BET, so get your TV ready because our wedding will be epic, baby. That’s right. The Wopsters are here.”
The untitled series will be executive produced by Carlos King for Kingdom Reign Entertainment as well as David George and Jordanna Hochman for iTV American. Oji Singletary (Growing Up Hip Hop, Braxton Family Values, and Basketball Wives) will serve as showrunner.
The premiere date and number of episodes have not been announced, but according to BET, the show “will follow the twists and turns of hip-hop power couple […] as they work to blend their families and defy the odds as they prepare for the most extravagant celebrity wedding of the year.”
