The beef between Jimmy Henchman and 50 Cent nearly resulted in the G-Unit’s founder’s murder.
In a recent interview with VladTV, G-Unit member Tony Yayo shed more light on Henchman’s infamous attempt to kill Fif, which took place on the set of the music video for 50 Cent and Akon’s 2007 single “I’ll Still Kill.”
“On the paperwork, Henchman and them were supposed to come through but I guess their gun jammed, but we had God on our side,” Yayo told Vlad TV. “And they backed out on the hit, but we had straps too, and that was really it.”
Yayo confirmed that Henchman’s people had silencers on their guns, which has long been rumored.
“Nobody seen them, they so-called was following a car. I don’t know which car ’cause it was like three or four different cars,” Yayo explained. “If you woulda shot I’m quite sure somebody would have shot back but you got a silencer so that probably give you the up, but I guess they didn’t know how to handle the weapon or something like that.
Yayo added, “It’s in the paperwork, and the gun went off in the car. So as the gun went off in the car I guess it jammed and they backed out of what they wanted to do; so God is good. I guess God was on our side at that time.”
Back in 2018, Henchman received one life sentence plus 30 years for the murder of G-Unit affiliate Lowell “Lodi Mack” Fletcher.
The case stems from a 2007 incident in which Fletcher and Tony Yayo assaulted Henchman’s son. Though both perpetrators were charged in the attack, Henchman allegedly put a hit on Fletcher following his release from prison. Henchman was charged with four crimes, including murder-for-hire, in 2015 and received a life sentence plus 20 years.
Henchman appealed the conviction, and was ultimately granted a new trial; however, he was found guilty, once again, in November 2017.
