Fans are convinced Madonna has come out as gay.
The 64-year-old pop star took to TikTok on Sunday to participate in a recent trend in which users declare that they are gay by attempting to shoot an object into a bin before widely missing.
The short clip features Madonna bunching up a pair of underwear, throwing it toward a trash can, and missing by several inches.The words “If I miss, I’m Gay!” is displayed below. After missing the shot, Madonna throws her hand up into the air before giving a knowing glance at the camera as she walks away.
Though Madonna hasn’t officially come out as gay, that hasn’t stopped fans from arriving at their own conclusions. “Did I just witness Madonna coming out, good for her,” one supportive fan wrote in the comments section. Another TikTok user claimed, “Madonna has been an out bisexual for literally decades my dudes.”
Of course, it isn’t the first time Madonna has hinted at her sexual orientation. In a 1991 interview with LGTBQ+ magazine The Advocate, she said she believed “everybody has a bisexual nature.” “That’s my theory. I could be wrong,” she added.
Madonna’s tease comes several months after the singer called it quits with her boyfriend of three years, Ahlamalik Williams. Over the course of her career, she has been married twice: spending four years with Sean Penn (from 1985 to 1989), before her eight-year marriage to Guy Ritchie from 2000 to 2008.
