Over the weekend, TMZ posted footage of Flavor Flav cursing out a Spirit Airlines agent at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas.
Sources told the outlet the Public Enemy rapper was preoccupied when the flight to Detroit started boarding, as he was working on his laptop and taking phone calls at the gate. When he noticed the agent shutting the door to complete the boarding process, Flav proceeded to get in line to board, only to be told that the no one else was allowed on the flight.
According to TMZ, Spirit Airlines reopened the door to let other passengers in, but closed it again on Flav and two other people on the flight.
“Spirit Airlines shut the door on me while I was in line to board,” Flav told TMZ. “I was upset and said some harsh words to the gate agent. I apologize to those who witnessed me acting out of character. I do not apologize to Spirit Airlines or the gate agent.”
Flav hopped on Twitter on Sunday to address the incident.
“I like to think I represent all the people who would get upset when airlines are in the wrong,” he wrote. “As I said to TMZ, I apologize to those who witnessed me acting out of character,,, but I do not apologize to Spirit or the gate agent for their shady tactics when they oversell flights.”
