Last month we gave the monthly rap verse crown to Rozay for his verse on Lupe's "Tranquillo". Maybe it should've gone to Lloyd Banks, but hindsight is 20/20, right? (Still, I've been beating myself up about all month.) Remy Ma made February's pick a little bit easier, though.
The Bronx rap veteran slow-cooked Nicki over hot coal for seven minutes of straight bars. Remy's ether came in response to Minaj's verse on Gucci's "Make Love," which was Nicki's answer to Remy's verse on Phresher's "Wait A Minute (Remix)" from late last year. Which was just another shot across the bow in a cold war that has been simmering since about 2007.
However, Remy denied that that verse was about Nicki during a Hot 97 interview earlier this month, saying, “Any person I ever had a problem with or felt any type of way about, I will have no problem saying your name.” Well, now she has, and then some. With "ShETHER," she's finally sparking a rap battle fans have been waiting to explode since Remy came home in 2014. Check out the ether below.
