With Spiral: From the Book of Saw set to hit theatres on May 14, Variety reports that 21 Savage will executive-produce music for the Chris Rock-produced horror franchise reboot.

The Atlanta rapper confirmed his involvement in a pair of Instagram posts, sharing the new trailer for the film that prominently features snippets of the 21-helmed title track.

“‘Spiral’ In Theaters May 14 @saw Soundtrack By Me,” he wrote, adding dagger and sunglasses emojis, as well as tagging Rock and his co-stars (Samuel L Jackson, Marisol Nichols, Max Minghella).

21, who’s been known to implement horror movie themes in his music and cover art, is no stranger to the genre. Last month, the 28-year-old rapper and super producer Metro Boomin released a horror-inspired music video for their Savage Mode II single, “Glock In My Lap.”

Directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, Spiral is the ninth installment in the Saw film franchise. Lionsgate’s official synopsis reads: “Working in the shadow of his father, an esteemed police veteran (Jackson), brash Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Rock) and his rookie partner (Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.”

Following several pandemic-related setbacks, Spiral hits theatres and HBO Max on May 14. Check out the trailer below, and stay tuned for more news regarding 21’s involvement in the film.
