BET just announced the nominees for the 16th annual BET Hip Hop Awards ahead of the ceremony next month.

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion lead the nominations for this year’s Hip Hop Awards, with nine nods each. What’s particularly impressive about Cardi’s list of nods this year is that she hasn’t even dropped or a mixtape or studio album, riding high off the success of her collaboration with Meg, “WAP.” Megan similarly dominated at the 2021 BET Awards earlier this year, having dropped both Good News and Suga in 2020.

Drake, meanwhile, garnered eight nominations across seven categories, including Hip Hop Artist of the Year and Song of the Year. His album Certified Lover Boy is not nominated for Hip Hop Album of the Year, having missed the cut-off date for 2021’s ceremony, per BET. It’s likely Kanye West’s Donda, which released less than a week before CLB, also missed the cutoff.

Moneybagg Yo, Tyler, the Creator, Migos, Megan Thee Stallion, DJ Khaled, 21 Savage & Metro Boomin, and J. Cole all got nods for Hip Hop Album of the Year with their latest respective releases. Lil Nas X also notched two nominations for his track “Montero (Call Me by Your Name),” while Tyler has rightfully gotten four nods following the release of his latest album Call Me If You Get Lost.
