Fresh from liberating his picturesque short film, Riddim & Bluearlier this week, Jamaican-born singer, songwriter and rapper Royal Blu has a fresh set of visuals to share with the world, this time for his latest single "Hype". Directed by illustrator and VFX specialist Ikem Smith, Royal Blu defies all allegations of him being 'hype' through a playful visual that flips the definition of a "villian" on its head, and he does this while crooning through a dreamy soundscape.

Speaking with Complex over email, Blu told us: "'Hype' is basically me telling my perspective to those on the outside looking in, that what they might interpret as 'hype' is just someone living their normal life while still being around the people they came up with. I feel like the idea Ikem had for the music video perfectly embodies that. I might seem like a villain in this game but I'm just a regular human being like everybody else."
