Following on from their last single, "Dream Steppin'", released early last year, appropriately named Melbourne duo Two People, aka Phoebe Lou and Joey Clough, are back with their new single "A Taste". The pair originally started life as part of five-piece band Snakadaktal before the band split in 2014. Five years later and Two People were up and running with a new creative lease on life.

Aided in part by Kllo producer Simon Lam, the smouldering electronics that have become a staple of their new sound are still in full force, creating a driving yet calm bed beneath Phoebe's dreamy vocals. The new single, we're told, is the first track to emerge from their as-yet-untitled new album, which they've been working on pretty much since their debut project, First Body, dropped in January last year.

Speaking with Complex via email, they explained: "'A Taste' has been round the bend. It was a bit of a monster of a track in the studio, living plenty of different lives. We always wanted it to be this driving song that was deep and euphoric but also alive. It was madness trying to get the sounds to sit with one another. If only you could hear the drums soloed. Throw this on late. It was written on the ways of desire, that innate pull. It's about that idea of freedom and how it can trap you."
