After the success of their self-titled debut EP last year, and a feature on Vagabon's self-titled album a few weeks ago, Canadian-German alt-pop band Monako are back with the video for their own single, "Town", and news of their second EP arriving early next year.

The band started as a duo of vocalist Sadek Massarweh and guitarist Jakob Hersch, before adding singer Naomie De Lorimier and then eventually expanded into a six-piece with the addition of Valentin Hebel, Jan-Hendrick Schnoor and Pamier Hilal. Inspired in equal parts by indie and R&B, their dreamy alt-pop melodies coupled with Massarweh's entrancing vocals make for a hypnotising experience. The video, filmed and directed by Constantin Timm, taps into every aspect of that with surreal images and psychedelic colouring that'll suck you in like quicksand

Speaking with Complex via email, Monako describe "Town" as when "your mind is racing everywhere and nowhere at the same time. When you’ve tried everything, the only thing that’s left is a surreal, dream-like emptiness."
