With his Eye 2 Eye EP fresh out the gates and still riding high in all of our playlists, Deno's back to strike while the iron's hot with some crisp visuals for project highlight "Lauren" with JAY1. The whole EP was deftly executed; a whole album or tape might have been too much, but a seven-track collection was more than enough to get us going while still leaving us wanting more.
Inspired by the relationship between Lauren London and the late Nipsey Hussle, "Lauren" sees Deno unfurl a typically fluid and melodious framework, before JAY1 steps in with a sure-footed verse that is surely going to make him the in-demand rapper of the moment. The video is just as laid-back and self-assured as the track itself, taking understated shots of Deno and his team and flipping them with some slick edits and clever effects.
