Full Size Run co-host Trinidad James is back with a new song and video, complete with some well-placed middle fingers and a lively marching band.

The Youngfyre-produced song itself, titled "Playli$t," sees James opening up about his experience and general thoughts on signing with a major label, a lyrical move fans may interpret as the artist indirectly alluding to his signing to (and eventual separation from) Def Jam.

"It's a love song for humanity and hip-hop," James said of the record. "Not many singles show other artists love on them. Every artist mentioned on the hook is an artist that inspires me, and I actually have on my 'Playli$t.'"

You can check out the Howard Ross-directed video up top, which arrives the same week as James' birthday. The release also counts as the first to come through a global distribution and label services deal between James' Gold Gang Records/Beach Wave Sounds and ADA Worldwide.

James previously spoke on this experience in a 2017 Forbes profile, noting that the success of such a high stakes venture comes down to the strength of the team put in place around you by the label.

"To me, what makes being signed or attached to a major [label] awesome is a great team. If you know that you don't have a great team...nobody's there to look out for you," he said at the time.

Earlier this year, James appeared on Jaden Smith'sERYS album by way of the track "Mission." He also linked up with August Alsina for "I Love This Shit," a track that was eventually certified double-platinum. His Daddy Issues tape, meanwhile, arrived last October via his own Gold Gang Records. He's currently prepping to release a new full-length project.
