Throughout 2019, Mahalia has proved herself one to watch. The Atlantic Records signee has released a string of promising singles, and now she's delivered her highly-anticipated debut album Love and Compromise. The 21-year-old singer has been making music since she was a preteen, and all those years of experience shine through on her first full-length effort.

The U.K.-based artist's new record features appearances from Burna Boy, Terrace Martin, Hamzaa, Lucky Daye, and Ella Mai. Across grandiose yet direct production, she puts her songwriting talents on display with a confident delivery that straddles genre boundaries. Listen to the record in full below.

In a recent interview with Zane Lowe, Mahalia revealed that the Ella Mai feature on "What You Did" came together last-minute. "I wrote it like maybe now almost a year ago with one of my favorite producers, his name is Pop One Zone out in L.A.," she explained. "And it was finished, it was done, the album was about to be delivered and then two days before delivery, Ella Mai texts me and she said, 'Hey, have you submitted the album?' And I was like, 'I'm about to submit it. Why?' And she just basically was like, 'I'd love to be a part of it.' And so I sent her 'What You Did' and then it all happened pretty quickly and then it was literally like hours before delivery."
