Dem Franchize Boyz shared the heartbreaking news on their Instagram that Gerald Tiller, better known as Buddie, has passed away.

While their two posts on Buddie's passing didn't reveal the cause of his death, Jermaine Dupri appeared to provide us with the answer with the #fuckcancer hashtag on an Instagram post where he used a line from the group's hit song "Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It" to acknowledge Buddie's death. Dupri signed Dem Franchize Boyz in 2005 to his label, So So Def.

Their former labelmate Da Brat offered her condolences with a post that also alluded to cancer as being the cause of death.

Fellow DFB member Parlae also took to Instagram to extend a message to Buddie.
