Disney's live-action Aladdin is set to hit theaters later this week, and Will Smith has been on a whirlwind of promotion leading up to its release. He's appeared on Kimmel to discuss Red Table Talk and his son Jaden wearing a Batman suit to prom. His tour also included a chat with Jimmy Fallon to give a preview of one of the songs he sings in the film. Smith, who plays the role of Genie, let fans hear a brief snippet of "Friend Like Me." The full track featuring DJ Khaled is here.

The update of "Friend Like Me" is a more rap-influenced take than the theatrical 1992 version. Smith's edition is bolstered by Khaled offering ad-lib.

When he spoke about the experience of playing Genie, Smith told Fallon, "What did it for me when I was messing with the music...I had 'em grab 'Impeach the President' by the Honey Drippers and he used the drums." Smith's version of the song even samples Robin Williams, featuring brief vocal snippets throughout.
