South London hip-hop artist Ash Shakur is known for his leftfield, experimental take on the genre and his latest track, "Skins" (due out May 17), is another example of that. With a funky, '80s feel fronted by synth-led production, Ash focuses on self-awareness and growth through his charismatic bars, aiming to empower the listener and remind all of us to love ourselves more.

Speaking about the track, the rapper said: "I wrote this song to instill confidence and encouragement for people to sing along to. It's about being 100% comfortable in your own skin! It's easy to get caught up in the perception of others and what the, 'quote unquote' standard of beauty is. Make sure you're happy and love and respect yourself 100%, even when life gets a little bit rocky."
