Lady Lykez and producer Scratcha DVA probably have one of the oldest friendships in the scene, having first met back in 2007. But over a decade later and the pair have only just worked together for the first time, with the latter producing the former's latest EP, Muhammad Ali.
The four-track project brings together all the elements that make Lady Lykez such a formidable MC — with grime, rap and dancehall all making an appearance in one form or another — and her rapid-fire delivery and no-nonsense rhymes are complemented by DVA's high-energy production throughout. There's even a feature from Lioness, who comes through for the remix of the title track (visuals above), proving that 2019 really does belong to the women of the scene.
