Only weeks ago, Red Bull Music debuted their new Australian hip-hop documentary series This Is Home, as they toured Western Australia's Kimberly region with Dallas Woods. Today we're premiering episode two with Brisbane rapper Jesswar.
In this episode, Jesswar reflects on her beginnings in the river city, comparing her first show at a local venue – performing to nobody – to her return years later when she performed to a packed house. The "Savage" rapper speaks on the unique sense of community in the local rap scene, and her goals to become a figure of representation for the next generation. True to Jesswar's comments on comunity, the episode ends with a cypher featuring a bunch of her Brisbane city peers.
