Slowthai

Northampton's rowdy rap upstart, Slowthai has had a phenomenal couple of years, making a staggering ascension to the top which is still going full steam ahead. So what better time than now to announce his debut album, Nothing Great About Britain? We've already heard two cuts from the LP—"Peace Of Mind" and "Doorman"—so there were suspicions that an album might be on the way, but now that news has been set in stone with a release date of May 17.

The announcement also came with the album's third drop "Gorgeous". It's not quite as raw and caustic as some of his past releases, but his fervor is no less potent. This time, however, the instrumental is a lot calmer, incorporating dreamy melodies and sampled snippets that give the track a sense of nostalgia. The rest of the eleven-track project is mostly a solo Slowthai affair—but there are two notable collaborations: Jaykae ("Grow Up") and Skepta ("Inglorious"), which will no doubt whip up quite a bit of excitement.

For now, though, content yourself with this new single below.

UPDATE (April 5): The official video has just landed.
