Your new favourite R&B artist, Joyia, is continuing the buzz of her debut project with a fresh new music video. Earlier today, the Toronto-based songstress unleashed visuals for her HMLT-produced track "Adore You". The smooth cut, which landed on the aforementioned Legends EP, has Joyia taking listeners behind the curtains of a tragic love affair. Now, the standout track gets projected onto our screen courtesy of director Jimmy Vi and cinematographer, Julian Lomaga.
Speaking to Complex CA over email, Joyia broke down the inspiration behind the track itself and just how its theme is woven seamlessly into her new short. "The video is really reflective of the song. I’m left dwelling on why I still adore someone when they’ve put me through so much. It’s me, myself, and I, completely engulfed by the one thing I can’t seem to let go. This is the internal struggle that I, and I think all of us go through at some point in our lives."
You can watch the music video for "Adore You" above via YouTube, and be sure to revisit Legends on streaming platforms including Spotify below.
