Toronto's BOYFRN just released his second single of 2019, "Die Young," a powerful track that draws inspiration from a tragic event in the artist's life: the loss of a childhood friend to gun violence.

BOYFRN has the following to say of the song: "'Die Young' is not about romanticizing death in anyway but cherishing life and recognizing its fragility. I feel many of us in our 20s deal with an ego complex of feeling indestructible, and life being the greatest teacher that it is humbles us sooner or later."

The song's heavy subject matter has been given a fitting accompanying visual care of director Angus McMaster. The video extrapolates on the thematic elements in the song using the images of a soldier and an empty house, with BOYFRN serving as a narrator contemplating on the themes of mortality and isolation.
