Joyia has been making music her entire life, but the Toronto songstress remained in the shadows, focused on refining her craft. Now, and after some sonic soul-searching, the young artist is ready to make her mark. Earlier this weekend, Joyia dropped her debut EP on streaming platforms, and if the project's title is any indication, the artist plans on building a legacy. Legends is our first encounter with Joyia, who sounds super comfortable on this rookie EP blending modern R&B vibes with lush and organic-sounding instrumentals.

Executive produced by Corey Wong of the brother duo HMLT, Legends showcases the songwriter's ability to create a rich world with her music. Established acts like Norah Jones, H.E.R., and Frank Ocean are certainly clear influences, but Joyia is already finding her own footing with these first three tracks in her fresh catalogue. You can listen to Legends now wherever you find music on the internet, including below via Spotify. In case you missed it, she also released a music video for the title track back in December, which you can revisit here.
