2 Chainz just dropped his first new song of 2019. With his "Stay Woke Freestyle," the 41-year-old Atlanta rapper is making sure his fans know they're in for yet another great year with his highly anticipated new album, Rap or Go to the League, still on the horizon.

Starting with a bold sample of Ghost Town DJ's "My Boo," the beat eventually evolves into a brass-heavy production that perfectly suits 2 Chainz's approach to rap. It's the colorful type of production that works well with his wordplay, with him bouncing atop the vibrant sounds with ease.

In February 2018, 2 Chainz announced that his fifth studio album, Rap or Got to the League, was on the way. It's been quite some time since then, and he even released the Drake and Quavo-featuring "Bigger than You" to build up hype. Unfortunately, the record didn't surface, but with the release of this new freestyle, it would indicate that he's gearing up to finally release the album sometime this year.

To kick off 2019, 2 Chainz dropped the video for "Hot Wings" from his two-track EP Hot Wings Are a Girl's Best Friend. It was also later reported that he had been spotted in the studio with Kanye West in Miami, joined by the likes of Migos, Timbaland, Tee Grizzley, and Lil Wayne among others. Sounds like 2019 is going to be a great year for 2 Chainz fans.
