DiCaprio 2 season continues.
Tuesday, J.I.D dropped off the new video for his J. Cole-assisted DiCaprio 2 cut "Off Deez." The Dreamville signee linked with director Cole Bennett for the video. Previously, Bennett has contributed visual know-how to Future and Juice WRLD, Wiz Khalifa, Comethazine, YBN Nahmir, and more. Catch Bennett's latest creation up top via YouTube.
In an interview with Complex in November, J.I.D outlined his goal going into DiCaprio 2 sessions of wanting to land an entry in an all-too-rare category of sequels: good ones. "DiCaprio 2 is way better than the first DiCaprio, first and foremost," he said. "That was my goal. I wanted to make it better than the last, like a better sequel. Sequels usually don't be better than the original, you know what I'm saying? I don't know if that's just a movie thing, because Friday was the best Friday."
J.I.D went on to compare this approach to the one behind Pixar's Incredibles 2, which he feels improved upon the original in some inarguable ways. "That's better than the first one, I think," he said. "Do you all agree? People are sleeping on it. But it's really good. I saw it on the airplane."
DiCaprio 2 also counts ASAP Ferg, 6lack, Ella Mai, BJ the Chicago Kid, Method Man, and Joey Badass among its expertly assembled group of featured collaborators. Mac Miller had a hand in the making of the BJ-featuring "Skrawberries," a project highlight J.I.D recently brought to the Tonight Show. The performance marked his TV debut.
Next up, J.I.D will launch his appropriately Leonardo DiCaprio-referencing Catch Me If You Can Tour in Eugene, Oregon. See a full list of dates and the official tour flyer below.
