Darcy Baylis’ sound is a different one in the Australian music scene, and the Melbourne-based artist’s new single “I Dream Of You” is perfectly suited for the sun-soaked Spring we’re experiencing right now. The production imitates that of a vast desert, with the airy, synth pads making up vast, scenic soundscapes, and Darcy’s melancholic vocals dripping like rain; hydrating the arid plains that the song manifests. It’s experimental, but Darcy’s somber refrains make it perfectly suited for sad singalongs.

“I Dream Of You” follows Darcy’s 2017 album Intimacy & Isolation, and is the result of the artist spending his year traveling the world and writing music. With experimental singles like this, who knows what the artist has in store.
